Pitt Panthers Football Camp Has Begun! Lets Stir the Pot!
The panthers reported to camp on Wednesday morning and my brain hatched the ole question for the first time this year. “How are them damn panthers going to be this season”? I feel like Pitt has the best kool aid in the city. “But this year is different!” We all say, and maybe you are right in saying it this year. Pitt has stud Mason Heintschel here for his Sophomore season and the ceiling looks very high. But didn’t we drink that kool aid last year with Eli Holstein? Look how that turned out…
I also think its time to officially start the shot clock on head coach Pat Narduzzi (this is long overdue). With college sports changing the panthers can’t afford to tread water with 7-5 seasons that end with a loss in a toilet bowl game to a MAC school, and if Mason declines this year its safe to blame Narduzzi for the lack of development with QBs as well. We need a few years of dominate football and to be legit contenders in the ACC to get this school back on the map and get back to those years of Pitt our dad’s are always talking about.
The 2026 schedule is as follows:
Vs Miami (OH)
Vs UCF
Vs Syracuse
Vs Bucknell
@ Virginia Tech
Vs North Carolina
@ Boston College
@Miami
Vs Georgia Tech
Vs Florida State
@Louisville
@ Cal
I think this schedule favors Pitt being able to compete for an ACC championship with Clemson and SMU not on the schedule. I am also worried this is going to be a classic Pitt trap and we end up doing some weird stuff like starting 6-0 and ending 6-6.
